Fortytwo Harbor

The swarm inside your office

TL;DR

The idea of distributed AI cannot exist without node runners providing GPU compute.

Node runners cannot provide compute for free. They need incentives.

At the pre TGE stage, points are the incentive. But what happens after that? Pay them in tokens, and then you get a down only path.

The only way is to create a constant and strong cash inflow that can be shared with node runners.

But wait, maybe node runners are not even needed for the main cash flow?

and this is where harbor comes in

Harbor is the enterprise version of Fortytwo: the same swarm of models, but running on machines located inside your office.

Fortytwo offers a new solution to the problem of closed business environments. Right now, businesses like this have two options:

  • Use centralized technologies like GPT 5 and Claude, while sacrificing data security.

  • Try to rely on locally deployed open source solutions. As everyone knows, they are still far behind the solutions mentioned above in terms of quality.

Because of this, the sector is falling behind badly. I hear from friends who stayed in Russia how much local businesses struggle because of sanctions, and the situation here is very similar.

Fortytwo has already shown many times that its approach to building a swarm of AI models can perform at the level of OpenAI and Anthropic. You can see it yourself by looking at the results of many tests conducted by Fortytwo. And most importantly, you can reproduce them yourself on your own PC.

The Fortytwo team made a showcase site where anyone can compare the swarm outputs with many other LLM.

why are you bullish on harbor

Yes, you heard that right. With support from local investors, Fortytwo is entering Gulf markets with a game changing product for banks and government institutions.

The team offers a completely new solution, both in terms of the idea and the technical implementation.

The software runs on servers physically located at the client's site. All traffic stays behind the company's firewall. You can go even further: the machines do not need to be connected to the internet at all.

This level of security is standard for banks, defense institutions, and other critical infrastructure.

Banks, hospitals, law firms, and government institutions cannot send sensitive data to the OpenAI cloud because of regulatory requirements. Fortytwo deploys a swarm of models in a way that keeps all data inside the internal network. This is the main advantage of the product.

how the swarm works, in case you forgot

When dozens of new AI solutions appear on the market every day, it is easy to miss something big.

In a market where the valuation of another Cashcat can exceed the seed valuations of 99% of major infrastructure projects in just a few days, it is easy to lose touch with reality.

Fortytwo has built a very interesting and, most importantly, working product: a distributed network where many AI models running on different machines in different parts of the world can produce results comparable to products from the biggest players.

A user request is split into several parts, and each part is processed by different models. Other models then verify the results, improve them in real time, and the user gets the most accurate final answer possible.

Harbor is basically the swarm inside your office, and the team offers two ways to test it:

  • Track A, Turnkey, 8 weeks: a license plus a hardware bundle. The full rack is installed inside the client's environment as a complete setup.

  • Track B, Your Own Hardware, 4 weeks: software only, running on the client's GPU servers. Same evaluation results, but a faster start.

The models used here are already familiar to OG swarm participants: open weight generalist and specialist models. Fortytwo will tune them for the needs of each specific organization.

All of this runs on consumer grade GPUs. You get a fixed cost instead of paying per token, a predictable budget, and all the other benefits of this approach.

definitely bullish

Fortytwo disappeared from our radar, but showed up on the radar of potential customers. Harbor sells private AI to regulated companies, and the Gulf is full of exactly the kind of clients that need it: banks, government institutions, and sovereign wealth funds that cannot send their data to the cloud.

At this pace, participation in Hub71 could become a major factor for both Fortytwo and the OG members of the community.
